Most of us know that people aren’t always what they seem. That’s exactly what these shoppers inside a Goodwill store in Norwalk, Ohio were reminded of when a middle-aged man in a plain sweatshirt sat down at a used piano.
Instead of just jamming his hands down on the keys, the man did something that left his fellow shoppers in shock!
As soon as the man sat down at the piano, he stretched out his fingers and began to play a beautiful song. Everyone was surprised by the impromptu performance, including the staff members.
One of the employees at Goodwill ran to their phone and started recording right away. They later shared the video with the Love What Matters Facebook page, saying:
“This gifted gentleman just walked into my store and moved me to tears! Listen for yourself. Only at Norwalk Goodwill, in Norwalk, Ohio.”
Everyone inside the Goodwill sat in awe as the man’s fingers ran across the keys and his head swayed with the sound. It was clear to everyone watching in person that the music moved him and this was something he loved to do – no matter who was watching.
Depending on how often you practice, learning to play the piano this well can take more than 10 years. First, you have to learn how to read sheet music and understand musical notes. Then, you have to familiarize yourself with the piano itself and how it works.
From there, you learn to memorize each key and how it coordinates with the sheet music sitting in front of you. After years of practice and playing, you can eventually play songs without the sheet music!
That’s what this man has accomplished and it’s something very few people can do well nowadays!
This level of talent is what left so many people inside the Goodwill totally in shock. The shoppers recognized how much practice and skill it takes to play like that and they were blown away that a performance unfolded right before their very eyes.
Thank goodness the employee thought to record the man and share it online for the world to see. This is something that can put a little cheer in everyone’s souls this season!
Hopefully, the man continues to pop up in places around Ohio (and the rest of the country) to share his unbelievable talent!
